The supply of Counterfeit Components is causing a huge economic impact in the
Electronics Industry and this Symposium and Workshop is to combat this problem
with interchange of information on case histories, detection techniques and
actions being taken by manufacturers, distributors, brokers, test labs, users
and other impacted organizations.
GOALS
- Understand the issues and magnitude of counterfeit components
- Exchange information on case histories and prevention methods
- Provide techniques for identifying components that are counterfeit
- Jointly develop prevention practices for procurement, identification,
traceability, testing, and analysis to find counterfeit components
- Demonstrate inspection and test equipment that is useful in detecting
fake components
